On 19th October, AZTI-Tecnalia and CEIT-IK4, both partners of VERTALIM project, attended “Treatment of wastewater in the food industry: New opportunities” conference in the technological park of Bizkaia.
This workshop aimed at companies, universities, research centres and other interesting agents was organized to present the latest technical trends and challenges in this field.
The presentations were divided in two parts to review the current situation in wastewater management and treatment in the food industry and, secondly, to analyse the role of water management in this type of industry within the circular economy.
The conference, apart from IK4 alliance R&D institutes, it was also attended by companies from food sector (RiberEbro), wastewater treatment (SUEZ) and the Basque Environment Cluster (ACLIMA).
