Project Description
IEO (Instituto Español de Oceanografía, Spain) is dedicated to marine science research, especially in relation to scientific knowledge of the oceans; the sustainability of fishing resources; and the marine environment. IEO staff has actively participated in tuna RFMOs including ICCAT, IOTC, IATTC (and AIDCP) and WCPFC. Dr. Jose Ortiz de Urbina (Chairman of ICCAT’s Mediterranean albacore WG) will be responsible of the tasks assigned to IEO in this project. His role corresponds to staff category I.
