Content: This article describes the protocol to carry out Paracentrotus lividus embryo-larval bioassays for evaluating marine sediment toxicity. The information is distributed in the following sections: introduction, application, terminology and definitions, basics of methodology, needed material and equipment, sediment treatment, larvae obtaining, toxicity test with samples, final results, other variants of the test, toxicity test with reference substances, EC50 calculation, and material cleaning. At the end of the manuscript, annexes with summary tables, working tables, pictures and figures are attached in order to solve the doubts that could arise.
