A Plan to Advance Equality
This plan, approved on 24 January 2024, is part of the current legislation on equality and reinforces the work we have already done at AZTI. It applies to all employees in our centres in the Basque Autonomous Community and will be in force until June 2026, with the possibility of revision if necessary.

The plan is structured around three strategic axes designed to ensure equal treatment and opportunities at all levels of the organisation:
1. Good Governance
We promote an organisational culture that embeds equality in all our policies and procedures. This includes the implementation of compliance tools, equality training and communicating our commitment to the entire workforce.
2. People Management
We are working on specific measures to ensure fairness in recruitment, promotion and remuneration, as well as the shared responsibility for work-life balance. We are also reinforcing the prevention of harassment and the elimination of gender gaps in positions of responsibility.
3. Impact on Society
AZTI plays an active role in promoting gender equality in the scientific and technological sector. We are committed to integrating the gender perspective in our research projects, promoting women’s participation in science and collaborating with networks and forums specialised in gender equality.
Monitoring and Evaluation: a Real Commitment
To ensure the success of the plan, we have set up a Monitoring and Evaluation Commission to ensure its correct implementation. In addition, we have specific measurement and adjustment tools to continuously improve our actions.
At AZTI, we believe that equality is the key to innovation and progress. With this 2nd Equality Plan, we continue to build a fairer and more equitable future for all people who are part of our organisation. You can download it here.
